Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani announced that months of national, intelligence and technical operations have led specialized teams to uncover munitions, precursor chemicals and mixing/storage equipment linked to the former regime's chemical weapons program. He said all recovered materials have been secured and moved to designated facilities for destruction under approved technical protocols, and that Syrian authorities facilitated OPCW inspection missions to dozens of sites.
The Syrian Permanent Mission to the OPCW detailed finds including 54 aerial bombs similar to those used in the 2017 Al-Lataminah attacks, 25 surface-to-surface missiles like those in the 2013 Eastern Ghouta attacks, and materials tied to sarin production, and reported the arrest of 18 individuals. U.S. Special Envoy Thomas Barrack praised the joint Syrian-OPCW work as a key step toward eliminating chemical weapons remnants and promoting accountability. The Syrian Observer translated and edited the report and has not independently verified the claims, as reported by The Syrian Observer
