Israeli military to deploy polling stations in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria

The Israeli military has begun preparing to install polling stations in occupied areas of the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Syria ahead of the general election on 27 October, after army chief Eyal Zamir ordered officials to facilitate voting for soldiers deployed beyond Israel's internationally recognised borders. Army Radio reported that the move is intended to enable troops stationed deep in enemy territory to cast ballots, and Israel's Central Elections Committee recently approved rules allowing soldiers to vote from military positions in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
