Minister of Health Musab al-Ali announced the activation of the emergency health code in Deir Ezzor Governorate in response to an unprecedented rise in the Euphrates River's water levels. He said he is cutting short a trip to Germany and will travel immediately to Deir Ezzor via Gaziantep to follow developments on the ground, emphasizing that the health and safety of residents are a top priority.

Response and coordination

The Health Ministry has established a joint operations room with the health directorates in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, in coordination with the Deir Ezzor governorate and executive offices, the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, Internal Security Forces, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
