Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar met with Chinese Ambassador Shi Hongwei to discuss broadening bilateral cooperation across economic and industrial sectors. The two sides emphasized expanding partnership horizons, boosting coordination and expertise exchange, and identifying development and investment opportunities to support reconstruction and new joint projects.
The meeting is part of the ministry's wider push to deepen ties with Arab and international partners to aid Syria's economic recovery; al-Shaar also held talks that day with Egyptian Chargé d’Affaires Mohamed el-Feki on enhancing trade and economic cooperation. China has maintained diplomatic and economic engagement with Syria and signalled interest in participating in reconstruction efforts, as reported by SANA
