Syria and Germany plan to deepen ties after presidential Berlin visit

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani received German State Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister Serap Güler on Wednesday to discuss follow-up measures from President Ahmad al-Sharaa's visit to Berlin. The talks focused on practical steps to activate, strengthen and expand the Syrian-German partnership and to implement outcomes of the recent high-level contact.

Officials emphasized cooperation in the investment sector, reviving the joint business council and increasing private-sector engagement, while also reviewing joint efforts to support stability in the region.
