Amman forum advances Syria–Jordan higher education cooperation

Delegations from Syria's Ministry of Higher Education and their Jordanian counterparts met in Amman on Sunday as part of the Syrian-Jordanian Dialogue Forum, with support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The session focused on practical mechanisms to boost academic and research collaboration across the two countries, bringing together policymakers and university representatives to identify areas for partnership and knowledge exchange.

Syria’s Higher Education Minister Marwan al-Halabi stressed that promoting academic innovation and strengthening international links is a strategic, evidence-based priority for Syria’s future. Participants discussed exchanging educational and research expertise, improving higher-education quality, and fostering institutional partnerships to reinforce cultural and scientific ties and support the development of both nations’ higher education systems, as reported by SANA
