Joint Beirut meeting

A joint Syrian delegation from the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs met in Beirut on Aug. 5 with Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar and senior Lebanese security officials to discuss mutual concerns and ways to strengthen bilateral security cooperation. The Syrian Interior Ministry said the visit took place at the invitation of Lebanon's interior minister.

The Syrian delegation was led by Brigadier General Mulham al-Shantout, deputy interior minister for security affairs, and included Syria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Beirut Iyad al-Hazzaa and Colonel Abdul Rahim Jbara, Director of International Cooperation at the Interior Ministry.
