Syria establishes national side of Syrian‑Saudi Business Council

Summary

Syria's Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, issued a decision creating the Syrian side of the Syrian‑Saudi Business Council to deepen bilateral economic cooperation. The new council will be chaired by Haytham Subhi Joud; Rifai Hammadi will serve as CEO, Samer Montaser Qalaaji as deputy CEO, Nasser Youssef as COO, and Antoine Nasri as private sector coordinator.

The move follows last year’s joint investment forum in Damascus, which produced 47 agreements and memoranda of understanding valued at about $6 billion, and is intended to advance a strategic partnership to boost trade and investment between the two countries as reported by SANA
