Syrian forces arrest suspected ISIS member in Jarablus tied to 2022 bombing
Arrest in Jarablus
Syrian security forces detained a man identified as Jassem Ibrahim al-Ahmad following a surveillance operation in the northern city of Jarablus, the Ministry of Interior said. Authorities accuse him of belonging to the "ISIS" organization and say the arrest is part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
The ministry reported that al-Ahmad confessed to planting a bomb in 2022 that killed one person, participating in an attack targeting a Military Police official, and killing a married couple in al-Haymar town after accusing them of practicing witchcraft. The detainee has been referred to the competent judiciary to face legal measures, as reported by SANA
