Syrian Information Minister visits TRT in Ankara to deepen media ties

Syrian Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa visited TRT’s headquarters in Ankara and held talks with TRT Director Mehmet Zahid Sobacı. During the meeting, al-Mustafa was briefed on the broadcaster’s operations and its experience in producing news and program content as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral media cooperation.

Purpose and wider engagement

The visit was made at the invitation of Burhaneddin Duran, head of communications at the Turkish presidency, and aims to enhance coordination in media and communications between the two countries. Al-Mustafa also attended an international symposium on media policies in conflict zones, taking part in a session on Türkiye’s role as a peacekeeper from a media perspective, as reported by SANA
